Bethany R Tolson has been a devoted admirer of Jane Austen since first discovering her works at the age of ten. Writing under the pen name Green Ribbon, she creates emotionally rich Jane Austen variations and Regency-era fiction that explore love, duty, and the quiet strength found in unexpected places.
She began reading JAFF in the early 2000s and started writing her first novel, Mr Collins’ Bride, in 2011. It was completed in 2024 and published in 2025, followed by Six Inches Deep in Love and Lieutenant Bennet. Her stories are known for historical authenticity, emotional depth, and a distinctly Austen-like wit.
Before publishing, Bethany spent years immersed in historical re-enactment and live-action role-playing, designing and running events inspired by the Regency and other eras. That hands-on experience — from sewing gowns to recreating period etiquette — brings her writing vividly to life.
Born in England and now living in South Africa, Bethany works in IT, balancing her love of technology with her passion for storytelling. When she isn’t writing or researching, she enjoys tea parties with her young son and the company of several opinionated cats who believe every story should include them.
